Audio/Sound:
The Corn Exchange has a permanently installed sound system, available to all who
hire the venue. And also a separate 'Booth' for both DJ's and sound engineers, located
in the corner of the main hall. If required by visiting engineers a temporary booth can
be build in the middle of the main hall (against the wall opposite the stage). No extra
power is provided for additional sound equipment if brought in by hirers/promoters.
MAIN PA AS STANDARD:
1 x dB Technologies 'Fifty Line Plus' active PA system, set as two stacks one either
side of the front of stage (S/L & S/R). Each stack consists of: 2x Single 18” sub
bass units, 1x Single 15” Bass unit, 1x 10”+1.5” Mid/Top Horn loaded units.
The system is rated at 5Kw RMS power, and can produce an SPL of 125db.
1 x Eurodesk SL3242 FX-Pro mixing desk. With 24 mono Mic/line inputs, plus an
additional 4 stereo pairs. Dual built in multi FX include reverbs, compressors
and many others. Two AUX sends for monitor mix, and 4 sub groups.
1 x 16/4 Multicore, 16 sends to desk, 4 returns from desk to stage box located at back
of the stage. Multicore is NOT moveable.
1 x BSS Opal FCS966 Graphic E.Q. Unit (set for main PA E.Q.)
1 x dbx 1231 Graphic E.Q. Unit (set for monitor E.Q.)
MICROPHONES:
4 x Shure SM58 Mic's
1 x Shure PG48 Mic
1 x JTS NX8s Mic
1 x Samson CO5 Mic
1 x Peavey Drum Mic set (for a 5 piece kit, 3 tom 1 bass 1 snare)
STAGE MONITOR SYSTEM:
4 x M1520 Wedge monitors (250w RMS each)
2 x Millbank AP1500 Amplifiers
The monitor system is normally set with two independent monitor mixes (two pairs),
but it is capable of having 4 separate mixes if required (additional cabling is required,
a charge for installation of cable is applicable to hire cost).
STAGE POWER:
On-stage power for backline/keyboards etc. is supplied as two 4 x 13A socket boards.
Additional extension leads/4 ways are available if requested, but be aware a limited
power supply is available for this.
OTHER ITEMS:
3 x D.I. Boxes
1 x Stanton CM203 twin CD player (basic DJ unit)
A stock of various Mic stands are available to use, including Boom, Straight, and low
height stands.
Also a selection of various XLR/Jack cables is also available.
Additional sound/audio is available if requested.
We can arrange for DJ decks, Large mixing desks (Verona etc.), outboard FX units such as compressors, gates, reverbs etc.
Private hires of venue and promotions requiring additional sound/audio, can hire it in at cost to the promoter/promotion/party organiser.
(Events promoted by venue management will generally have extra audio supplied.)
Operation and technical support for additional sound/audio is also charged extra to hire.
NO RIGGING or hanging of speakers of any kind shall be allowed in the venue without
prior arrangement with both venue management and technical staff. A full risk assessment, and certificates will be required. Any additional sound units or other electrical items brought into the venue MUST be P.A.T. Tested, with current certificates available to view.
Lighting:
All lighting runs from it's own independent 32A single phase power supply, with an
additional pair or 13A supplies for 'Hot Power' for extra lighting such as moving
lights or L.E.D. units (non standard items that can be hired in if required). No form of
power distribution is provided unless specified/hired in for an event. The power
supply terminates in one 32A CEE Form single phase socket, and one twin 13A
socket upstage right.
LIGHTING RIGGED AS STANDARD:
8 x Source Four multi-Par lights with wide lenses fitted. Four rigged on back wall lx
bar (back wall of stage), and four rigged on front of house lx bar No1.
8 additional multi-par lights are sometimes available to use, rigged on two downstage booms, but be aware they are not always available!
1 x Six way DMX dimmer pack (basic built in control)
7 x Club/Disco FX lights (including a laser), 3 rigged on Back wall lx bar,
1 rigged in roof alcove, 3 rigged on 'Disco' lx bar above front of house
mixing/DJ booth.
1 x Large Mirror Ball, rigged on front of house lx bar No2, with own pin spot.
1 x Large Smoke machine, located in front of house mixing/DJ booth, used for
parties & club nights. Hazers for lighting FX can be hired in at cost.
Additional lighting is available if requested.
We can arrange intelligent moving head units, L.E.D. lights, profile spots and other
theatrical lights and FX.
Private hires of venue and promotions requiring additional lighting, can hire it in at cost to the promoter/promotion/party organiser.
