HEADLINING ON THE NIGHT
ONE MAN DOWN with PAT CRILLY
“One Man Down” is an Acoustic Routes band led by Pat Crilly playing acoustic guitars, mandolin, bouzouki and mandola with a folky bluesy jug band sound.
The Band plays a mix of Pat’s own songs with a few quirky covers in the style of the Mississippi Sheiks thrown in.
Main solo instruments are Saxophone, and Whistles from Greg Camburn and laid back resonator guitar from Drew Bonnington. Keef Jackman plays his Ukulele the “Jackman way” and Cormac O’Prey on bass and Andy Church on percussion form the rhythm section.
The general feel is fast paced up tempo with a ratio of 2 fast to 1 slow mix.
Most of the material performed by “One Man Down” are original songs by Pat Crilly and a few quirky covers are also included in the set list.
The bands musical influences are wide and varied….…. think Mississippi Sheiks, Balham Alligators for the up tempo, Chris Smither, Greg Brown & John Martyn for the slower laid back numbers.
“Get Rhythm” magazine caught Pat at a club in London and wrote:-
“A great live act. Singer Patrick Crilly reminds me of Roger Chapman and Feargal Sharkey mixed up in a cement mixer with Peter Gabriel. Songs are in that vein too. Quirky and bluesy….and deep as Loch water. “
Seasick Steve heard Pat at the 12 Bar Club in London’s Tin Pan Alley in 2009 and said “This guy is good!”

ANDREW J WILSON
Andrew J Wilson is a singer songwriter who lives in Bishop's Stortford.
Andrew originally hails from the heart of England and essentially that's where his music lies! Rhythmic, acoustic guitar skills underpin gentle melodies - but there's a gutsy underbelly reminiscent of Paul Weller or Joe Strummer's more tender moments.
His musical style has also been described as having “a relaxed delivery and the Englishness of Nick Drake, with tight rhythmical guitar and lyrics straight from the heart”.
Andy mainly performs his own unique material, but he also slips in one or two covers which reflect his musical influences which include artists such as Boo Hewerdine, Ryan Adams, Patty Griffin, Natalie Merchant, Paul Weller, Ray Lamontagne, Tracy Chapman and lots more.
Andy says that “my Song writing is influenced by an extremely wide taste in music that's crept into my bones over many years. I didn't start writing until I was in my late 30's and I don't think about a particular style when I write, it's just what comes out”.
